DANCE OF PERCEPTION is Thom and Nabiha’s first sound project,
elevating their long-term project DOORS OF PERCEPTION to a new experiential level.
We live in a world filtered through our senses, our brains, and our nervous systems.
Every moment, an overwhelming flood of information hits us, and most of it is irrelevant or useless.
Our minds act as guardians, selecting only what is necessary to navigate daily life.
What we call “reality” is therefore just a fraction of the vast, unseen world around us.
we can loosen them, allowing glimpses of hidden truths and deeper layers of existence.
Opening the doors of perception is not an escape from reality—it is an encounter with it:

The senses are the guards at the edge of what we know,
Filtering the flood from the world’s bright overflow.
The brain’s just a gatekeeper, keeping out the storm,
Tuning down the chaos, shaping what is “form.”
We see just a fragment of the truth that spins around,
The rest is left in silence, where the real can’t be found.
Can’t you see the deception,
We’re standing at the Doors of Perception.

Each nerve’s a narrow tunnel, each thought a tiny spark,
We map the endless daylight into safe and shallow dark.
Our symbols and our systems, our faiths and philosophies,
They echo the reductions of our small realities.
We call it “the world,” but it’s just a selection,
Trimmed and tamed by the Doors of Perception.

Yeah, the mind’s a filter, not a mirror to the soul,
It keeps us from drowning in the infinite whole.
But open those gates, let the current flow,
You’ll see the truths that the hidden mind will show.
You’ll see through the glass of reflection,

Meditation can loosen the locks a little wide,
Hypnosis, or chemicals, or just the inner tide.
Then visions start shimmering that logic can’t explain,
You glimpse the unseen patterns in the circuits of the brain.

Every day, our minds navigate a world filtered through layers of perception.
What we see, hear, and feel is only a fraction of what exists—fragments of reality shaped by our senses,
experiences, and the limits of understanding.
Yet, beyond these filters lies a vast, luminous realm: a world of colors we cannot name,
patterns we cannot predict, truths we can only sense.
It’s here that imagination stretches, consciousness expands, and dreams become portals.
To live beyond the filtered dream is to step into curiosity, to question what is “real,”
and to explore the infinite threads of perception waiting just beyond the veil.

Hyper Agency Detection: Why We See Intent Everywhere
Humans have a natural tendency to see agents and intentions everywhere, even when nothing is actually controlling events. This helped our ancestors survive—assuming danger that wasn’t there was safer than missing a real threat. Today, this instinct makes us see faces in clouds, read motives into accidents, or believe unseen forces are guiding events. It also helps explain why conspiracy theories can feel so convincing: Our brains are wired to look for hidden plans and secret intentions, even when they don’t exist.

Something’s movin’, something’s watchin’, something’s scheming all the time.
Maybe it’s just playful wind that tricks your curious mind,
